On behalf of the children of the Jean Weingarten Peninsula Oral School for the Deaf (JWPOSD), we thank you for attending our 28th annual Gala Benefit, “Welcome Aboard the JWPOSD Love Boat.” With your support we expect to have raised over $120,000! Thanks to the generous donation of a private foundation, the funds will be matched dollar for dollar, totaling $240,000 for the children!! Your generosity and kindness helps JWPOSD keep its doors open to provide the finest oral/aural education available to deaf and hard of hearing children in the Greater Bay Area. Early intervention combined with the use of hearing aids or cochlear implants make it possible for a child to develop spoken language skills comparable to their hearing peers by the time they enter first grade. More than 90% of graduates from the school successfully mainstream into regular education classes in their neighborhood schools. Every child has a dream, and every parent has a dream for their child. Our goal is to teach the children to listen, think and talk for themselves so their future is bright and they realize their greatest potential. Thank you for supporting our school.
